In today’s world of manufacturing, it is critical to optimize the manufacturing process in everyway possible. Manufacturers around the globe today do their best to achieve this by cutting costs anywhere they can. This includes areas such as material costs, tooling, shipping, waste and so on. However, one of the areas often left unchanged is the engineering side of the process. Too many companies have the opinion that it “takes what it takes” or “that’s the way we’ve always done it” to engineer the job. And they tend to just attempt to absorb this cost.
Let’s start by defining engineering. Engineering is any part of the process that includes design, print creation, NC programming and documentation.
It is in these areas that companies spend a lot of time. What’s more, they are recreating on each job processes that they have used on previous jobs. In this presentation, we are going to focus on the NC programming side through final documentation. Rest assured we can show case how to automate the process from A-Z, but we only have 30 minutes today....
