How to catch Turtles!

Where you find water, you'll find life! And on today's adventure, we're gonna be taking you down river, and show you how to catch turtles!

Throughout the United States, turtles are fairly common in ponds, lakes, river, and other bodies of water. And since this sand bottom river was so shallow, i could catch turtles by hand. Sometimes the best way to catch turtles is to use a net, but for me, catching wild turtles by hand makes for a more exciting adventure! It's always important that you identify the turtle, before catching them. Most common turtles (Like red eared sliders or river cooters) are completely harmless, while others (like soft shell turtles or snapping turtles) can be very aggressive, and dangerous. It is important, that if you catch any wild turtles, that you put the turtle back, and wash your hands afterwards, because many turtles can carry diseases. So if you're ever out exploring, make sure to identify the turtle before catching it, handle them carefully, and always wash your hands afterwards!
