We grow a very wide range of plants from the tallest trees down to the tiniest of little perennials, and when it comes to small easy to grow perennials David thinks these "hens and chicks" are just about the most magnificent, hardy and fun things to grow. In this video he gets VERY creative, just like Nature.

As far as varieties go, there are many different sorts, with different colors (including some that change color during the year).

People have planted them in things like strawberry pots, old boots and chews, hanging baskets and all sorts of locations. In this video, David shows an interesting project showing how you can grow these in ROCKS! As he shows us, this is replicating what "hens and chicks" accomplish in nature, where they grow high up in the mountains with little or no soil, in rock crevices, and nooks and crannies.
