How to Fix a Door That Won't Close - Best ways to fix it

If you need to fix a door that won't latch, here are some tips for you:
1. Try to hit the inside of the striker plate using a screwdriver and hammer. If this doesn't help, proceed to step #2
2. Try to file down the striker plate using a file tool
3. Make sure all three hinges on your door are tight flush with the frame.
4. Drill new holes and move the striker plate up or down. You may need to widen the groove around the striker plate with a knife.
