During the Battle of Basantar, he single-handedly destroyed four Pakistani tanks. When his own tank, 'Faustamusa', was ablaze, he famously defied his commander's retreat order, declaring: "No Sir, I will not abandon my tank."

But the saga doesn't end there. It is also the tale of a grieving father who, 30 years later, traveled to Pakistan and stood face-to-face with the Pakistani Brigadier who confessed to him: "Sir, I am the man who killed your son."
