Survivor Lynne Sheerin, from the city's Mosspark, wants the former facility to be flattened after fresh images came to light of the building lying in a state of decay. Calls have been made for Glasgow's infamous Fornethy 'house of horrors' to be demolished after ghostly images showed the abandoned school left to rot. She was one of of hundreds of girls who endured mental, physical, and sexual abuse at the mansion in Kilry, Angus, between 1960 and 1980. The then eight-year-old attended the school for six weeks in 1975 and was subjected to unimaginable abuse at the hands of teachers and staff. The former pupil was told that she would be attending the school for a "holiday" but was beaten, force-fed, inappropriately touched and mentally abused by staff. Speaking to the Record, Lynne, now 56, said: "The place should be bulldozed. It stands as a shrine to the abuse that hundreds of girls suffered there. It makes me sick knowing it's still there, despite the abuse and all the years that have gone by. Myself and the hundreds of other survivors would want to hit the first brick if there was an operation to tear it to the ground. Someone suggested to me that it should be replaced with beds of flowers, and I would agree with that.
