On August 16th, The Southern Michigan Railroad which is based out of Clinton, Michigan hosted a Wizard Train, from the city of Tecumseh. The small downtown was decorated in Harry Potter decor, and shops were labeled from the Warner Brother Movies. Trains left downtown at 10am, 12pm, and 2pm. The trains headed north to the bridge located at Red Mill Pond.
Power for the train are the following locomotives: SMRS #2022 and SMRS #3. SMRS #2022 is a GE 45-ton switcher built in 1952. It was operated by Dupont in Ohio before acquirement by the Museum. SMRS #3 is the last GE 44-ton switcher to be built by GE, in 1956. This locomotive came from the Adrian and Blissfield and operated on the dinner train out of Charlotte, Michigan.
Harry Potter fans enjoyed a 45 minute ride from downtown Tecumseh, and can be seen on the open gondola converted over with benches.
