Power BI: Power Query Column Transform Must-Know Tips and Tricks🔍

In this video, Matt showcases how to efficiently remove columns the correct way by using the choose columns feature. This allows you and collaborators to modify quickly what columns should be part of your dataset. After seeing this video, you will never use the standard remove columns icon ever again.

Matt also explains how you can quickly inspect a column in question by utilizing the Go-To Column feature. This comes in handy when your table in question has a copious amount of columns built-in. Finally, Matt explains how to efficiently document the thought process of your transform in the applied steps. Here he shows how to rename your applied steps as well and gives a description of what you are doing in the transform. This is again beneficial if you have to revisit an old report to modify the data model.
