Preachings from Deliverance Church Umoja Lanet. On Sunday we shared on The Dual Engines of Power: Prayer and Fasting (Mark 9:17–29). Jesus said, “This kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”
There are issues in life that are stubborn, overstayed, and deeply rooted—the ones Jesus asked about, “Since when?” and the father replied, “Since childhood.” These “this kind” of problems—generational battles, challenges trying to drown your life/business or burn your blessings, financial stagnation, and spiritual bondages—will not shift by ordinary effort, or even by prayer alone. They demand the extraordinary force of prayer combined with fasting.
Prayer is our direct line to the throne of God, releasing His power into our lives. Fasting humbles the flesh, sharpens our discernment, and makes room for divine breakthrough. When engaged together, these two engines counter the enemy’s plots and release victory.
