Şarkı, askerî tuzaklarda öldürülen asker oğluna üzülen bir anne ve savaşın etkileri üzerinedir. Oğlunun gereksiz ölümüne ağıt yakan anne, bunu engellemek için neler yapabileceğini düşünerek vicdanıyla yüzleşir. Vals temposunda kaydedilen şarkı, Bush'un önceki teklilerinden bu yönüyle ayrılır. Şarkıdaki "BFPO", "British Forces Post Office"i (Türkçe: Britanya Güçleri Posta Ofisi) temsil eder. Britanya ordusunun posta sistemi olan bu kuruluş, şarkıda "Our little army boy is coming home, from BFPO" (Türkçe: Küçük asker çocuğumuz, eve geliyor, diyor BFPO) şeklinde geçer.
