John Toledo joined the Army in 1968 and became a helicopter pilot, flying combat missions with F Troop, 8th Cavalry (Blue Ghosts) attached to the Americal Division. He left Vietnam after completing a twelve month tour and separated from the Army in 1972. Toledo flew helicopters for various organizations until his retirement in 2009.
