► For years, 5 News has followed the huge challenges faced by children with special educational needs, and their families. More than a million youngsters are affected and today a long-delayed review by the government has finally been published.

So, what difference will it make?
•Improving the process for parents so it's easier for them to access the right support.
•Increasing the number of staff specifically trained to work with children with special needs, as well as introducing a new qualification for them.
•And mainstream schools will need to be more inclusive of children with special needs.
The government says the plans will be backed up by funding, but critics say it won't be enough after years of cuts
•And for many families, these changes are too little too late.
