Jaguar E-Type Lightweight Reborn | Ultimate Classic Racing Build

The Jaguar E-Type is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful cars ever created — but among all E-Types, the Lightweight versions stand apart as true motorsport legends.

This video documents the extraordinary Team CJ Lightweight E-Type build, a painstakingly crafted alloy-bodied tribute inspired by the rare 1963 factory Lightweight and Low Drag Coupe race cars developed for Le Mans competition.

Starting from a donor E-Type, the team embarked on a no-compromise journey to recreate the spirit of Jaguar’s most ambitious racing program. The body was reimagined in aluminum, including the bonnet, doors, boot lid, and hardtop, dramatically reducing weight while preserving authentic period proportions. Beneath the surface, the car was engineered to deliver modern performance with historic soul.

At the heart of this build is a powerful Stage Two 4.7-liter Jaguar inline-six, producing close to 400 horsepower, paired with upgraded drivetrain, suspension, and braking systems to handle the immense performance. Every component was inspected, fabricated, or refined to the highest standard, blending motorsport engineering with concours-level craftsmanship.

This is not a simple restoration — it is a rebirth of a legend. A machine that honors Jaguar’s racing heritage while delivering an exhilarating, visceral driving experience.
