When Alan Robles invited me to lead a workshop for his engineering students at Tec de Monterrey, I immediately asked if there was a unique spot on campus where we could record some music.
Thanks to Alan’s efforts, we were granted permission to film inside a stunning permanent art installation perched on the edge of the beautiful campus. The breathtaking view of Monterrey’s iconic Cerro de la Silla — or “Saddle Hill” — provided the perfect backdrop for this unforgettable session.
This Global Sound Concert is a celebration of creativity, collaboration, and the inspiring landscapes that shape music.

“Singing inside James Turrell’s Skyspace was a special experience. The space’s unique presence, light, and color perfectly connected with the contemporary regional music. The sound feels thoughtfully crafted and aligns beautifully with the artwork. The song Silvestre means a lot to me because it’s about rebirth and overcoming challenges, like storms, sun, and drought. The space and the song reminded me of the desert in northern Mexico, with its changing sky, making the song feel even more alive and connected to my country.
