Dongxing City, which is located in the southwest of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, shares a 33 km borderline with Vietnam. The city is 178 km away from Nanning, the capital of the region, and 308 km from Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam.
Dongxing has always been an important border town and trading port for China, by virtue of its favorable geographical location – it is the only port linking China and the Asian countries by both land and water.
