Removing Ghost Nets – Deep Reef Rescue Operation at 100-130ft (30-40m). Every year, ghost nets are abandoned in our oceans. These abandoned fishing webs travel the currents, invisibly trapping marine life and destroying delicate reef ecosystems.
This video documents a real-life deep ocean rescue mission. See the reality of removing a massive ghost net, meticulously tangled across a deep reef.
The work of freeing this reef spanned multiple technical dives, reaching depths of 40 meters on doubles and 30 meters on singles.
If you believe in protecting our oceans, please consider subscribing and share this video to help raise awareness about the silent threat of ghost nets.
To all divers: we have a unique opportunity to make a difference. Every dive can be a chance to observe, report, and help protect our fragile underwater world.
The dives took place on a deep reef 700 meters offshore from Bauan Divers Sanctuary, Batangas, PH.
