We are having a very powerful east coast 2014 snowstorm in the U.S.today. The storm is coming up along the east coast and is spreading a large area of snow, sleet, freezing rain and just plain rain nearer to the coast. The snow started falling lightly before midnight here in northeastern PA. and became heavy shortly after dawn as the storm strengthened. So far we have 8 inches of snow from this 2014 coastal storm. We are expecting another 4-8 inches of snow as the storm deepens even further.
This 2014 east coast snowstorm have caused many problems because of the range of precipitation.
The U.S. northeast is especially being hit hard due to the cold air in place and the strengthening of the storm. Many places already have a lot of snow on the ground and now some places will be adding a great amount of snow to that with this storm.
The northeast has been pretty much spared large storms this winter season until now.
