The Fisher Spyder sports racing car at the 2025 Doune Hillclimb.
The car was built by Jack Fisher (Fisher's Garage, Edinburgh) in1964 and was given the Gropa sports body in 1970. The car was a successful racer in the 1960's & 1970 in the hands of Jack Fisher and Eddie Labinjoh. Restored to its former glory by Peter Speakman in 2007. The car has a BMC Mini 1380cc engine fitted with an Arden 8 port, cross-flow, cylinder head with twin Weber DCOE40's. The transmission is a BMC Mini Mk1 straight-cut gearbox with an LSD. Most of the running gear is based on Lotus 23 parts. The chassis is a steel tube space frame with aluminium panels. The body is fibreglass and is based on a Gropa sports car body with the tail section shortened to suit the Fisher's wheelbase.
