First Impressions of TIRANA, ALBANIA 🇦🇱 - ALBANIAN FOOD completely SURPRISED us!

In this week's video, we explore the capital of Albania for the first time! We are giving you our first impressions of Tirana, Albania. Albanian food definitely completely surprised us!

We decide to start our day at Cafe Botanica to have some Albanian breakfast classics—tarhana and petulla.
After our delicious breakfast, we head to nearby Skanderbeg Square, which is home to many of the city's main attractions, including the National History Museum, the Opera Theatre, the Clocktower of Tirana, and Et'hem Bej Mosque.
From here, we head to Tirana Castle, which is loaded with many different shops, restaurants, and cafes. We decide to pick ourselves up a couple of snacks. First, we try an Albanian Delight, followed by some delicious baklava.
Next, we head back towards Skanderbeg Square—stopping briefly at the Cloud, a local art installation, along the way.
Upon arriving back at the square, we decide to visit Et'hem Bej Mosque during tourist visiting hours.
Of course, it wouldn't be a trip to the Balkans without trying some byrek, so we head to Byrek Special "Luani" to grab ourselves a piece, along with some ayran to wash it all down.
Upon finishing our snack, we decide to visit one of Tirana's strangest attractions, the Pyramid of Tirana. We make the 100+ stair climb and soak in the incredible 360-degree view of the city.
After a full day of exploring Tirana on foot, it's now time for an Albanian feast at Gjelltore Dibra. Here, we try tavë dheu, fërgesë, qofte, stuffed eggplant, and a country salad. To wash it all down, we try some local Albanian beer and wine.
Lastly, we end the day with some Albanian raki at Tudor 59.
