About Giovanni Sollima
Giovanni Sollima is an acclaimed Italian cellist and composer, known for his virtuosic technique and genre-defying compositions. Born in Palermo in 1962, he studied at the Conservatory of Palermo and later at the Salzburg Mozarteum. Sollima blends classical music with elements of rock, jazz, and Mediterranean folk traditions, creating a distinctive and energetic style. As a performer, he is renowned for his passionate stage presence and collaborations with diverse artists and ensembles around the world. In addition to his concert work, Sollima is a prolific composer for film, theater, and dance.
