Trains at: Manchester Piccadilly, WCML, 02/11/15

An absolutely fantastic afternoon spent at Manchester Piccadilly which is one of the terminus stations on the West Coast Mainline where we see a plethora of services from First Transpennine Express, Northern Rail, Cross Country, Virgin Trains, East Midlands Trains and Arriva Trains Wales.

Manchester Piccadilly is one of my personal favourite stations to film at for a few reasons, the main one being the amount of traffic coming and going, the great variety in liveries from all of the different companies and the fantastic variety in traction both old and new. During the course of this video I capture several great tones from the drivers as they depart the station as just out of shot there were a couple of Network Rail track engineers assessing a set of points, at least that's what I saw as I was pulling in.

Unfortunately I was able to catch any freight during this video but as I was walking up the length of the platform there was an intermodal freight train slowly pulling away, I wasn't able to see the loco at the front but I would guess that it was a class 66 of some sort.

Manchester Piccadilly is always going to be a station that I'm going to be coming back to each and every year, and my films here will always be of this length to ensure that I capture a healthy amount of traction and liveries.
