💈 Relax & Unwind With Hot Lather Shave In Korean Barber Shop Haven | HERR Barbershop

Our first stop in Seoul, South Korea was Herr Barbershop to relax and unwind with a hot lather shave. Opened in 2013, and inspired by the barbershops of New York City, the flagship store we visited is a wonderfully elegant and relaxing haven for men’s grooming.

"HERR hopes to create an environment for men wanting to release their dapper potential that was less sterile than a unisex salon but still used highly skilled stylists to deliver the finest and latest haircuts."

We filmed with Senior Barber Hwan Seo who has been working at HERR Barbershop for six years. Prior to Herr Barbershop, Hwan worked 8 years in a salon. Hwan began working in the industry at 25 after completing his military service. First studying at a liberal arts college but later switching his career goals to barbering.

Hwan wanted something to do for the rest of his life . . . and that was barbering.

Hwan’s desire is to work with integrity, and he hopes all customers can feel this when sitting in his chair for a haircut or shave. Assisting is Junior Barber Jisang Yoo aka Jay. Jisang has been working at HERR for a little over a year. When asked what he likes about HERR Barbershop, Jisang says it is the atmosphere, cozy feeling inside the shop, as well as all the nice smells!

Jisang told us it does not matter what your job or career field is, it is important to find a good mentor and then go for it. Another great reason why he loves working at HERR Barbershop!
