Brian Setzer's influence in the Neo-Rockabilly and also the whole 50s- Revival- scene is immeasurable. When I was a teenager, I ate, drank and breathed the records of his Orchestra day and night. Getting in touch with his inspirations and influences, I found out that he "stole" ideas for songs quite brazenly, re-arranged them slightly to adapt his sound, and fitted them out with new lyrics, as for example with Lew Williams' "Classroom Hop", that Brian turned into "Fishnet Stockings", or Buddy Holly's "Down the Line", that he utilized for his "Let's Shake".
Anyway, many of his compositions I loved very much, and so I ventured to sort of turn the tables and re-arrange one of Brian's Originals in the vintage R'n'B sound I feel a home with.
As always, I played an overdubbed all instruments and vocal tracks by myself, trying to emulate the sound of an early 50s black Doo-Wop group like the Du-Droppers, The Ravens or The Dominoes.
Hope you like it!
