[Day in my life as an international PhD student] Being introverted is not a bad thing. As an introvert doing a PhD abroad, I was worried about not being able to connect with people, but I have come to realize that spending time with myself does not equate to losing connections. I really appreciate the joy and comfort of being alone.
I spent a large part of today alone: commuting on the MBTA, working at a cafe, and taking a test. I also had a pleasant experience on the train back home, with a friendly and enthusiastic train conductor who shared little bits of MBTA history at every stop. I really enjoy spending time by myself and genuinely had a great day.
