After our crankwalk conundrum, we deploy our spare 4G63 block that came from a Sonata. It features split thrust washers just like the later Evo engines, so hopefully our crank stops walking for good.
After a trip to the machine shop to have its 4G64 crank set, we start assembling the short block with forged pistons and rods. The Hyundai Sirius II block has some distinct changes in its casting that doesn't allow you to use some Evo 4-8 ancillaries, so likely we will be reusing more Sonata stuff other than the oil pump. We are able to use a Tomei baffle kit for an Evo 4 though.
Also evaluating a shade for the body when it gets repainted. Tell us what you think of the color.
