FTV News wins at National Press Council Journalism Awards

The National Press Council Journalism Awards were announced today. FTV journalists Aaron Kuo and Liu Chang-hsiung won an award for a feature story about a group of young abuse victims who kayaked around Taiwan. An FTV “Hall of Dissent” feature about a group of girls kayaking around Taiwan to overcome domestic abuse has been selected for a National Press Conference Journalism Award.Aaron KuoFTV ReporterSome people at the bottom of society are vulnerable and need more exposure and forgiveness. We hope this type of story can bring broader attention to these people The story featured eight girls who suffered from domestic abuse and sexual assault. They joined a trip around Taiwan in a sea kayak to help them overcome their past.
