In previous chapters we learned about our sensory system, discussed sensory processing and looked at potential challenges and tools. We introduced the concept of self-regulation and looked at dysregulation, co-regulation and self-regulation as different types of regulation.
We’ve learned that every person has unique sensory needs, which means that when we put students together in a classroom we have a large variety of sensory needs to meet.

Part of that can be achieved by understanding sensory processing and its impact on behavior, social interaction and learning. If we learn to see the behavior of children through a sensory lens, we might be better able to address their challenges and help them succeed.
