Bowtie Popup #13 | Digging Up Sunchokes to Build a Better Home for Them

Bowtie Popup #13 is a hands-on live stream focused on harvesting sunchokes and rebuilding their growing space. I’ve been working with these plants since we moved here, and after a few seasons of learning, it’s time for a better solution. Today I’m digging up three large in-ground pots, harvesting what’s there, and creating a larger confined in-ground bed. The structure will be built with reclaimed red brick and lined with weed fabric to allow water flow while discouraging root escape. This isn’t about fixing failure. It’s about responding to what the garden teaches over time.
