If you want to control your TCL Google TV using your smartphone, connecting it to the Google Home app is the way to go. This allows you to use voice commands, manage settings, and even cast content directly from your phone to your TV. Whether you're using an iPhone or Android, the process is mostly the same and works seamlessly as long as both your TV and phone are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
To begin, download and install the Google Home app from the App Store or Google Play Store. Make sure you're signed in with your Google account. Once you're logged in, open the app and tap "Get Started" if prompted. You’ll then be taken to the main dashboard where you can manage your home and devices. To connect your TCL Google TV, tap the "+" icon in the top left corner, then select "Set up device."
Next, choose "New device" and select the home you want to add the device to. Your phone will begin scanning for nearby devices. When your TCL Google TV appears on the screen, tap on it. A QR code will show up on your TV screen, and you'll be asked to scan it using your phone's camera. This step helps securely link the devices.
Follow the on-screen instructions both on your TV and your phone to complete the setup. Once the setup is done, your TCL Google TV will appear in your Google Home app. You can now control the TV, change inputs, adjust volume, or even use voice commands through Google Assistant-enabled devices.
