Recognized by the public for her extraordinary interpretation, elegance, and outstanding vocal technique, Julia Vari is currently one of the most active and well-known vocalists in Latin America. Julia has performed at the most important festivals, theaters, and cultural forums throughout Mexico, Latin America, USA and Europe, bringing an exquisite selection of fresh and vibrant original jazz arrangements and fusions of Mexican and international music to a wide variety of audiences, in eight different languages. Her second solo album, “Lumea: songs of the world in jazz,” as well as her new album “Adoro” (Mexican music in jazz), immediately soared to the “Top 5” on the jazz charts in Mexican and online music stores, competing with artists such as Diana Krall and Michael Buble. Julia has collaborated and shared the stage with artists such as Arturo Sandoval and Armando Manzanero.
Julia Vari was born with music in her blood, as her mother is a pianist and her father plays the guitar. After having studying voice, piano, theory and composition at the prestigious Eastman School of Music, as well as musical theater at New York University, Julia has traveled around the world participating in different concerts and musical events, and sings in eight different languages.
Since her return to music in 2011, Julia has performed at the Lunario and the Julio Castillo Theater (within Mexico’s largest Auditorium), Zocalo (Mexico City’s main plaza), CLAZZ International Latin Jazz Festival, the Mexican Cultural Institute’s Concert Hall (Washington DC USA), IGA Theater (Guatemala), Fedenador Theater (Ecuador), KAKV Cultural Forum (Spain), Museo del Chico (Colombia), FEPADE Theater (El Salvador), CEIBA International Festival (Tabasco, Mexico), San Miguel de Allende International Jazz Festival, Festival de las Almas (Valle de Bravo, Mexico), Quimera Cultural Festival (Metepec, Mexico), and Pablo Villavicencio Theater (Sinaloa, Mexico), among many others, including theaters and cultural forums in the U.S., Spain, Italy, and Romania. She has also participated in many well-known Mexican and international radio and TV programs.
Julia is currently promoting her third solo album, an exquisite tribute in jazz to two of the most renowned composers in Mexican history: Armando Manzanero and Jose Alfredo Jimenez. The album includes two duets with the famous Mexican composer Armando Manzanero.
