Today I show how to repair and maintain an RC car body so it lasts longer—whether you’re bashing, crawling, or drifting. Instead of replacing cracked or weak shells, this method focuses on reinforcing them from the inside using plaster tape and Shoe Goo.
The process takes time and patience, but it dramatically improves durability and saves money in the long run. This technique helps prevent stress cracks, body post tears, and split corners that usually end a body’s life too early.
In this video I’m working with a Tamiya TT-02 chassis fitted with a Subaru STI racing body, but the same reinforcement method applies to almost any polycarbonate RC body.
This is real workshop maintenance—slow, methodical, and worth it if you actually drive your cars instead of letting them sit on a shelf. If you’re serious about RC longevity, this is one of the most useful body mods you can learn.
Perfect for:
• RC bashing
• Drift cars
• Crawlers
• Budget-friendly maintenance
• Extending the life of old bodies
Built to be driven. Reinforced to survive.
