青岸寺（せいがんじ）は、滋賀県米原市に佇む臨済宗の禅寺で、江戸初期に作庭された枯山水庭園が国の名勝に指定されています。
苔むした築山や石組み、三尊石・枯滝石・鶴亀島などが配され、書院や客殿からL字型に鑑賞できる構成美が魅力です。

また、雨天時には伏流水が染み出し、枯山水庭園が池泉庭園のような表情を見せることもあり、自然との共鳴を感じさせる希少な庭といえます。

静けさに包まれた禅の空間で、苔と石が語る“水なき庭”の美を、どうぞご堪能ください。

Seiganji Temple, located in Maibara City, Shiga Prefecture, is a Rinzai Zen temple known for its nationally designated dry landscape garden, created in the early Edo period.
The garden features moss-covered mounds, carefully placed stones, and symbolic elements such as the Sanson Stones, Dry Waterfall, and Turtle-Crane Islands. It is designed to be viewed from an L-shaped veranda and study room.

Uniquely, after rainfall, natural underground water may emerge, temporarily transforming this dry landscape into a reflective pond garden—offering a rare dual expression of Zen.
