Wondering how to rescue and harvest down corn this year? The Iowa Beck’s Practical Farm Research (PFR) site in Colfax suffered damage from the 2020 Derecho windstorm on August 10. Clayton Stufflebeam, Central Illinois PFR Location Lead, provides options for harvesting down corn. Clayton highlights the pros and cons of using the standard 2206 Case IH corn head, with and without a homemade corn reel. Also being put to the test is the Capello QUASAR corn head. Watch to learn more about his and Chris Grimm, IA PFR Technician’s, thoughts on getting down corn out of the field!
