This process is the same for a Yamaha XJ600 as the share the same engine.
Changing oil in a 1989 Yamaha Radian is very simple and easy
First warm up the bike, then locate the drain bold located at the Botton of the engine looking forward in the middle of the exhaust pipe. Then the oil oil filter is located in the front of the engine. The fill port if located on the right side of the engine and a sight glass on the right side at the bottom. Undo the drain plug with a 19 mm socket
Remove the filter with a 12 mm socket or wrench
Open with fill port to allow the oil to flow easier.
Let the oil drain and catch it in a drain pan. Once the oil is all out, put the drain plug back, change the filter and install it back. Add 2200 cc or cubic centimeters of oil to the bike.
Wipe and clean everything and the job is done.
