It tells the story of in 1960, seven pre-teen outcasts fight an evil demon who poses as a horrible clown. Thirty years later, they reunite to stop the demon once and for all when it returns to their hometown.

The film was directed by Tommy Lee Wallace and based on a book by Stephen King. It stars Richard Thomas as Bill Denbrough, Tim Reid as Mike Hanlon, Harry Anderson as Richie Tozier, Annette O'Toole as Beverly Marsh, Richard Masur as Stanley Uris, Dennis Christopher as Eddie Kaspbrak, John Ritter as Ben Hanscom, Tim Curry as Pennywise, Jonathan Brandis as Bill Denbrough, Brandon Crane as Ben Hanscom, Adam Faraizl as Eddie Kaspbrak, Seth Green
as Richie Tozier and Olivia Hussey as Audra Denbrough.
