Today's mission: Drive our 1964 Triumph TR4 down the road again under its own power. After months of work, we put our rebuilt gearbox and overdrive back in the car, once again connecting the engine to the rear wheels. Check out the video to find out if we accomplish our goal!
Today's work includes rebuilding the shift linkage, clutch fork and throwout bearing installation, mating the transmission to the engine block, driveshaft connection, slave cylinder, and transmission top cover installation. Everything needed for a DIY gearbox installation.
Note this is a 3-synchro transmission out of a Triumph TR3. The process is very similar for 4-synchro boxes used in TR4, TR4a, TR250, and TR6.
