There are 5 types of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) that Dr. Chuck Hodell pinpoints in this session: technical, hybrid, Instructional, Functional, and Sentinel. An SME is an expert in one or more fields of endeavor. They are usually a top performer within a specific skill set or a person who has reached the top of their field.
