INDONESIA FIRE: Blaze Engulfs Terra Drone Indonesia Building, 20 Dead | Rescue Efforts Continue

A massive fire at a seven-storey office building in Central Jakarta has left at least 20 people dead, authorities confirmed on Tuesday. The blaze erupted around midday on the first floor of the Terra Drone Indonesia office and quickly spread upward as employees were having lunch. Emergency footage shows people escaping from higher floors using portable ladders while firefighters carried out dramatic rescues and retrieved bodies from inside the building.

More than a dozen fire engines and rescue teams were deployed to bring the situation under control. Police say efforts are still ongoing to search for additional victims and determine the exact cause of the fire. Terra Drone Indonesia, a subsidiary of Japan’s Terra Drone Corporation, has not yet issued a statement.
