A book and a movie would capture the trauma visited upon one young family and cast a long dark shadow over the decades to come. Eric Walter was someone who caught up in the intrigue at a young age, and he had the ambition and talent to seek to uncover the truth. His documentary My Amityville Horror is in some ways more shocking than the story that spawned generations of sequels.
