This video is for doctoral and master's writers who are writing a thesis/dissertation or a paper for publication. Metatext (above or outside the text) are the phrases or sentences we use to talk to our readers. We use metatext to help our readers navigate our writing. In this video, we focus on organizational metatext - preview and summary sentences for a chapter/paper as a whole as well as within sections.
