In this video I go over what I believe made the hit Disney Plus show The Mandalorian so popular. I explain the state of the franchise before the show first aired, and also explain what sets it apart from other big budget Star Wars media. I also explain how directors like Akira Kurosawa and Sergio Leone inspired people like George Lucas to make the first star wars movie and eventually Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni to create this show. I also show how The Mandalorian's structure was inspired by old serial shows like Buck Rogers and Flash Gordon.
