1. God Made You Unique for a Purpose
Psalm 139:13–14 (NKJV):
“For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb.
I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well.”
Ephesians 2:10 (NKJV):
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”
Jeremiah 1:5 (NKJV):
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”
Romans 12:2 (NKJV):
“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
John 10:10 (NKJV):
“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”
God has a unique and perfect plan for your life. He doesn’t make mistakes, and He doesn’t make duplicates. There is only one YOU! (Stop and expound a little bit)
But here’s the warning: the devil also has a plan for your life—to distract you from God’s plan, to deceive you into settling for less, and to derail you with sin, fear, or compromise. He knows he cannot destroy God’s calling, so he tries to lure you into something else.
1 Peter 5:8 (NKJV)
“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.”
Satan will push counterfeit opportunities your way, like money without meaning, success without significance, popularity without purpose. He is the father of lies so he will do his best to get us to believe his lies about a counterfeit calling and say that it is the right way to go. But God’s will is not hidden—He wants you to know it and walk in it. The great news is you can know the will of God and walk it out just the way God designed.
Psalm 32:8 (NKJV):
“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.”

Examples
Biblical: Samson was uniquely anointed, but the enemy constantly attacked his purpose through compromise and wrong relationships. He wasted years, but when he turned back, God fulfilled His calling in the end.
Modern: Tim Tebow could have chased fame, but instead he used his platform to glorify Christ—choosing God’s will over the world’s.
God’s will is perfect; the devil’s counterfeit is destructive.
Don’t chase opportunities without asking, “Is this God’s will for my life?”

2. The Cost of the Call
Scriptures
Luke 9:23 (NKJV):
“Then He said to them all, ‘If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.’”
Philippians 3:7–8 (NKJV):
“But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ.
Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ.”
Matthew 16:25 (NKJV):
“For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.”
God’s call will cost you something: your comfort, your ego, maybe even your plans. But obedience to God always brings greater reward than what you leave behind. God’s plans are always better than ours!
Examples:
Biblical: Moses gave up the palace to lead God’s people. Paul surrendered prestige to become a servant of Christ. Jesus left heaven’s glory to redeem us.
Modern: Missionary Jim Elliot gave his life reaching an unreached tribe. His famous words still echo: “He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose.”
What are you holding on to that’s keeping you from fully obeying God’s call?
So how do we actually walk this out? It’s one thing to know God has a plan and to count the cost—but the real question is, how do I find and live out my specific purpose? The Bible shows us that God not only calls us but equips and guides us to walk in that calling every single day.

3. Finding and Walking in Your Purpose
Scriptures
Romans 12:6–8 (NKJV):
“Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.”
Colossians 3:23–24 (NKJV):
“And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.”
1 Peter 4:10 (NKJV):
“As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.”
