MEDICAL SCHOOL FINANCES | Update on my budget and loans + med school finance advice

Hey friends! This is a HIGHLY requested video and I'm so happy to finally deliver it to you. A bit has changed since my first medical school finance video -- namely I have embraced taking out a little bit more than I absolutely need so that I can be a happy, balanced, healthy person (Dave Ramsey hates this but it be like that).

The not special AllieBonBon method:

Costs that (can) stay the same (rent, subscriptions, internet, etc.)
Costs that change (plus wiggle room!) (utilities, emergencies, etc.)
Cost of attendance
Lump sum for emergencies (5K in my case this year, but adjust to your needs)

Scholarship
Money saved up

This will give you a total of which you need to ADD the amount that the loan fee will be so that you break even after they charge you to disburse money (don't ask me why)

Finally, key point that was made in the video is take out the most money you can with the lowest interest rate (makes intuitive sense but there is a lot to juggle and it helps to hear it from someone else!).
