But seriously what is a self-driving car? Today we will explain about everything of a self-driving car so don’t miss this video and let’s get into to it.

A self-driving car is a two-named thing, also known as an autonomous vehicle. It is just like a regular car but with a bit fewer human error. Imagine your car is educated and passes the exams so doesn’t need your help anymore. That’s a self-driving car.

First off, let’s check the basics: a self-driving car has some gadgets that compared to it, your smartphone is like an equipment from the Stone Age. These cars are packed with sensors, cameras, radar, and LIDAR (which is a radar nut with a fancy name).

What are these cameras for? Well, obviously the cameras help the car see what’s around it, like a digital version of your eyes, but without the tendency to get distracted by almost everything. The sensors are the car’s skin, feel the environment around it, so it knows when it’s getting too close to things. Radar and LIDAR, on the other hand, are like women’s sixth sense, they detect objects and distances with their superhuman precision.

Now, let’s talk about their brain. Yeah, they have brains too. The self-driving car’s brain is its onboard computer system, which makes your car smarter than many people around you. Self-driving cars come in different levels. Level 0 means it’s all on you, which is so last century, why on earth did you buy it then. Level 1 has a few assists, like cruise control that doesn’t totally suck. By Level 2, the car can handle the highway, but the wheel needs your hands, just in case it gets nervous. Level 3 is where it starts to get cool, as the car can drive itself in certain conditions, though it might ask you to take over if things get hairy. Levels 4 and 5 are where the magic happens: the car can drive itself everywhere, all the time, and you can relax in the car like you are in Hawaii drinking a cocktail.

Of course, self-driving cars aren’t perfect. Even that smart kid in class should be looked after. In unusual situations, like a deer doing the moonwalk across the road or a traffic light deciding to play peekaboo behind a tree, you should take care of them. Engineers are working on them, but you still need to know they are just robots. Alongside, one of the biggest benefits of self-driving cars is safety. They don’t do what people do while driving, which means fewer accidents and less traffic.
