This is un-edited FireCam footage from a recent structure fire. I was acting as a Safety Officer. The initial report from the first due engine was "Smoke Showing, Working Fire" I arrived after the start of the initial fire attack.
Smoke conditions as I arrived indicated that the fire was in the attic space. The crew inside had zero visibility and high heat. This fire came in at 13:00 and the outside temperature was around 92 degrees F.
The fire overran the attic space, but the aggressive interior attack prevented this from becoming a total loss.
No civilians were injured in this fire,. One child was treated on scene for smoke inhalation. two firefighters were transported for heat-related emergencies.
The Women and Men of this department are trained to be default aggressive, interior fire attack, style firefighters. It is an honor to serve alongside them.
