Why Type 81 No Drill Side Mount FAILED? Compared CSA VZ-58. Picatinny rail. Rifle LMG.

Note update: Tactical Imports announced on Feb 28th, 2022, after they sold-out of the $200 Picatinny rail kit that they will not be producing a second run. Citing poor sale and a nightmare to coordinate with different manufactures. This entire endeavor must be pretty bad for them to walk away from their year long R&D. Leaving many of us with OR rifles and no kits. It kinda tells me it never worked in the first place but i knew that.
So what are we gonna do with all the Optic not ready? I got an idea with my Gnutzguy's No Drill Side Mount-3 pins but only good for fixed stocks. See end of screen.

The $200 mount is not compatible with Kobra red dot with attached side mount, a separate plate is needed. Available in a combo. My $200 rail failed when the spring in the lock flew off and were lost.

So is this mount perfect? Far from it. I suggest the following improvements.
1. The mount should have a standard cut and made available by itself with two threaded pins so we could use our own standard AK/VZ rails with it, just like the AK Master mount which comes with two pins and no rail for US$85.
2. A complete redesign of the mount so it wouldn't interfere with the selector and the user can still use their left sided selector which I prefer.
3. Make the right sided selector available as an option because some users prefer it and make it 90 degree throw.
4. Next time pick a rail that has the lock not at the bottom so it wouldn't hinder the mag catch and the left handed shooters (they are cutting out 10% of potential left handed buyers).
5. Eliminate the left cant.

In spite of all the negatives, it's still a option, especially for those with aging eyes. Some gun enthusiasts will like them because it's relatively easier to install compared to drilling the receiver.
