I,m a big fan of Mark Serbu of SERBU FIREARMS. Here,s his site: https://serbu.com/ and both YouTube channels- strongly recommend: https://www.youtube.com/@MarkSerbusOt...

His simplistic open bolt, single shot GB22 pistol is a very elegant design.
I do not have laser or water jet cutting tools, or even a jigsaw or mill.
Using a drill, dremel and an angular grinder I made perhaps more simplified , I think , version of his gun frame that might be easier to cut out at of a 3/16-1/4” steel flat at home. I just used more round design, drilled different holes and connected them.
I ONLY HAVE BUILT THE FRAME AND THE SLIDE....THE TOY IS NOT INTENDED TO FIRE. I just wanted to educate myself and see how the trigger/ spring that are a part of the frame feel.
I discovered that the release of slide/bolt is pretty decent, the trigger is surprisingly comfortable as the sear moves down less than 1/16”.
To complete the gun, one needs a barrel( Mark offers a blue print and multiple suggestions / variations of how to attach…)
I speculate, depending on the slide and spring weight, ammo variations - it may even eject without extraction: as the opening -‘ ejection port’ is huge on both sides….
Thanks for watching
