In the southern region of Malaysia lies a small town named Batu Pahat,
home to about half a million people —
a place that may not stand out on the map,
yet moves to its own quiet rhythm.
Over these two weeks, fifteen photographers and artists from
China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, Canada, Australia, Indonesia, and Singapore
set foot on this land to begin a journey of living and creating together.
Amid language barriers and cultural differences,
they used photography as their shared language —
through the lens, they learned to understand, to listen,
and to slowly draw closer to one another.
“Sanren International Exchange Program”,
a five-episode documentary series,
takes you into this journey —
to witness how strangers find connection,
how authenticity sparks creativity,
and how, through images,
the quiet charm of Batu Pahat reveals itself once again.

在馬來西亞南部，一座名為峇株巴轄、人口約五十萬的小鎮——
一個或許不在地圖上被特別標記、卻有著獨特節奏的地方。
這段時間，十五位來自中國大陸、台灣、香港、日本、加拿大、澳洲，印尼與新加坡的攝影師與藝術工作者，踏上了這片土地。
他們齊聚於此，展開為期兩週的生活與創作旅程。
在語言不通、文化各異的情況下，他們以攝影為共同語言，
透過鏡頭，嘗試理解、傾聽，並逐漸靠近彼此。
