Annapurna Base Camp Trek (5 Days, 8.5K INR) | March-April | Without any Guide | Nepal 🇳🇵

In this video, you will get a complete journey experience from Kolkata to ABC (Annapurna Base Camp) and back.

Here is the itinerary:
1. Take a train from Howrah to Raxaul (as of May 2025, two trains are available*).
2. Upon reaching Raxaul, it’s preferable to take a horse cart (Tanga), which will drop you directly at the Birgunj Bus Stop (it costs around ₹200*).
3. You’ll find several money exchange counters beside the road near Raxaul station.
4. Take a bus from Birgunj to reach Pokhara.
5. The next morning, go to Prithwi Chawk Bus Stop and take a bus to Ghandruk, or you can take a shared jeep to Jhinu Danda.
6. Reach Jhinu and start your trek.
7. Complete the trek at your own pace. I’ll share the expenses below. 👇

• A. Stay at Pokhara – Hotel Mandap: NPR 1,500
• B. Stay at Lower Sinuwa – NPR 500 for two people. Most tea houses recommend a package system including stay, tea, dinner, breakfast, and Wi-Fi.
• C. Stay at Himalaya – We opted for the package system which cost us NPR 4,000 for two (includes dinner, breakfast, Wi-Fi, and lodging).
• D. Stay at ABC – NPR 5,000 for two people (includes lodging, dinner, breakfast, and Wi-Fi).
• E. Stay at Upper Sinuwa – NPR 500 (lodging and Wi-Fi), food cost: NPR 600* based on what we ordered.

Tips:
• Avoid carrying heavy backpacks.
• In March–April, one jacket and a hoodie are usually enough for winter wear (individual needs may vary).
• Carry essentials like lip balm, sunscreen, cap, sunglasses, inhaler/cold rub, and a poncho (thin raincoat).
• Bring some food items with you such as dry fruits (dates, nuts), bananas, bread, and chocolates.
• Medication to prevent altitude sickness (as per the display board at Jhinu): Painkillers (Tylenol, Ibuprofen), Acetazolamide, and Dexamethasone.
• Carry a 1-liter water bottle – you can refill it at any stoppage throughout the trail from running taps. Consider bringing ORS as well.
• Crampons for walking over glaciers (we didn’t need them, but it’s good for safety).
• Trekking stick is a must! Knee caps can also be useful.
