Just around 9:30 PM 12/14, Brick Township received a call for a working structure fire at 437 Carole Ave in Brick Township. The assignment was automatically upgraded to a 2nd Alarm Working Structure Fire assignment bringing in Mutual Aid from Point Pleasant Boro & Coverage for Station 23 from Point Beach. When the first arriving officers got on the scene they stated they had a two-story wood frame structure with heavy fire coming out of the second floor. Crews arrived on the scene and quickly stretched attack lines to the front door. The crew from 2325 had a 1.3/4 handling going into the structure while a crew from 2301 had an exterior line in place. The 2325 crew made a strong push-up into the second story got water on the fire and were able to knock down the fire pretty quickly from inside. Fire conditions were improving on the exterior and interior. Manpower from 21,22,24 worked together on the outside to knock down hotspots. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and there were no FF injuries while one Civilian was transported to a local area hospital for smoke inhalation the injuries were believed to be minor.
